Pulitzer Center Executive Director Jon Sawyer is part of a journalist panel this Saturday at the annual meeting of the South Asia Journalists Association. The panel's theme is drawn from the commencement address this spring by Columbia Graduate School of Journalism Dean Nicholas Lemann, who told graduates that "You will not only have to reinvent journalism, you will also have to reinvent the conversation about journalism, making it less internal to the profession, and more interactive with the rest of society."

Among the questions posed for the July 11 panel:

Where will journalism be in 2020? Journalists are increasingly being asked to translate traditional storytelling skills to a multimedia platform. What do journalists need to learn? What values of journalism must change? What must stay the same? How can journalists change their interaction with the rest of society? How have other professions started to bleed into journalism?

Jon will be joined by Alma Latour, managing editor of WSJ.com; Anup Kaphle, media fellow at The Atlantic; and Kelly Golnoush Niknejad, the founder of TehranBureau.com.
