The Webby nominee was produced by DOCDAYS Productions in co-production with YUZU Productions and CONGOO for ZDF in collaboration with ARTE and ARTE FUTURE. Additional credits include: Writers: Carl Gierstorfer and Mareike Mueller; Commissioning Editor ZDF: Linde Dehner; Animations: Marcel Riedel; Concept and Programming: Felix Nelson; and Executive Producer: Antje Boehmert.

"Interactive History on the Origins of HIV" is competing for the Webby as well as the Webby People's Voice Award. Please cast your vote for "Interactive History on the Origins of HIV" today.

Both "Interactive History" and the documentary are associated with Gierstorfer's Pulitzer Center-supported reporting project "HIV's Origins-And the Lessons for Today." The Rise of the Killer Virus premiered in the U.S. on the Smithsonian Channel on World AIDS Day. Prior to its U.S. showing, the documentary premiered in Europe as The Bloody Truth.
