The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting is excited to announce that it will be participating in NewsMatch for the second year in a row. NewsMatch is a national matching-gift campaign to promote giving to nonprofit journalism organizations among U.S. donors. The Pulitzer Center proudly joins more than 150 nonprofit newsrooms across the country to create the largest grassroots fundraising campaign to support nonprofit news organizations.

From November 1, 2018 until December 31, 2018, donations to the Pulitzer Center will be matched in multiple ways:

  • Unrestricted gifts: from individuals will be matched dollar for dollar by up to $1,000. Additionally, recurring donations will be matched at a full-year value (ex: $10/month donation is eligible for a $120 match).
  • Endowment gifts: will be matched dollar for dollar thanks to the generosity of Emily Rauh Pulitzer.

NewsMatch is generously driven by a partnership with the Institute for Nonprofit News and the News Revenue Hub, Democracy Fund, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and the Ethics and Excellence Foundation. The Miami Foundation serves as fiscal sponsor for the fund. The Facebook Journalism Project also made a $1 million donation to NewsMatch in 2018.
