Pulitzer Center Update August 13, 2008

Students Speak Out About Active Citizenship

Author:

In this video by Frank Popper (who also created "Youth Voices on Iraq"), high school-aged students speak out against apathy amongst young people toward anything political.

Civitas works with students grades 6-12 to counter the ill-informed and apathetic citizen who answers the question about what is happening in the world with "I don't know and I don't care." Since it was founded in 1991, Civitas has provided multiple model UN conferences, among other programs. The Pulitzer Center and Civitas have partnered to bring Global Gateway to St. Louis students, engaging students directly with the journalists reporting the most underreported international stories of today.
