Pulitzer Center photojournalist Bénédicte Kurzen traveled to Jos, a city that has been the epicenter of clashes between the Muslim north and the Christian south for over a decade. With Pulitzer Center grantee Joe Bavier, Kurzen started this long-term project to uncover the rudimentary causes of such religious fissures during the 2011 presidential election, and soon got caught in the midst of riots that characterize the politicization of this deep-rooted conflict.
