Today, best-selling author and TV broadcaster Laura Flanders hosts her own nationally syndicated TV show. But in the early 1980s, Flanders, who grew up in London, England, was a 22-year old concerned that the story she was getting on what the British called "The Troubles" was superficial and skewed. It was then that she began reporting on Ireland. Thirty years later, she returned to Ireland. In this short video, recorded on the eve of her 2016 Pulitzer Center-funded reporting trip, she talks about her motivations for going and the questions she sought to answer.
