The grassroots Hands Across the Hills project, loosely based on intercultural dialogue efforts in Rwanda, Bosnia, Myanmar, and Israel-Palestine, might be better called Ears Across the Hills because the unfolding conversations between a politically-motivated group in Leverett, Massachusetts, and an economic-development-driven contingent in Letcher County, Kentucky, show the critical power of listening to, learning from, and understanding each other from the heart.
