Sim Chi Yin travels to a remote mountainous area in China to report on silicosis, China's leading occupational lung disease that affects an estimated 6 million workers in the country. Silicosis is caused by the inhalation of dust and is most prevalent in mining communities. Those who suffer most are often migrant workers with no employment paperwork or access to adequate healthcare or legal aid. Sim followed one family closely for two years—what she shares with us is both an intimate portrait and a love story.
