Laura Bassett and Jake Naughton traveled to Kenya to take a close look at the devastating impact of a United States policy on the abortion rights of rape victims around the world.

For their project, "Unsafe Abortion in Kenya and the Ripple Effects of U.S. Foreign Aid Policy," they met with doctors and nurses who are either too afraid to offer safe abortion or afraid to openly admit that they do. They spent time with Consolatta Wafula, a 17-year-old rape survivor in a rural Kenyan town whose life was endangered by an illegal abortion.
