Pulitzer Center grantee Michelle Lotker, producer of State of Change, a series about how climate change affects North Carolina, will visit Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on November 16, 2023. She will visit classes, speak with student newspaper staff, and present her work in a keynote presentation. Lotker, who is part of the PBS North Carolina newsroom team, collaborated with grantees Frank Graff, Justine Schmidt, Rossie Izlar, Melissa Salpierta, and Paula Edelson on State of Change.

The multimedia project, part of the Pulitzer Center’s Bringing Stories Home initiative, explores the ongoing impact of climate change on communities and individuals in the state of North Carolina. It also shows how resilience can inspire solutions.

Lotker is an award-winning cinematographer, producer, and editor with a background in science journalism. Her documentary work puts people at the center of scientific and environmental storytelling and has been featured at several film festivals, including the International Wildlife Film Festival.
