Michael Scott Moore will speak about being kidnapped by Somali pirates for 32 months on Thursday, November 21, 2019 during a public event at the University of Maryland. Moore will share stories from his memoir—The Desert and the Seawhich outlines his life in captivity while exploring the economics and politics of piracy.
