Chris Giles

GRANTEE

Chris Giles has reported on the UK and global economy for the past 14 years. He is the economics editor of the Financial Times and has been an editorial writer and economics correspondent for the BBC. His work on public finance and austerity this year won the 2012 Royal Statistical Society prize for excellence in journalism, an award he also won in 2008. He has been at the FT since 2000. He started his career in research, spending seven years as an economist for the Institute for Fiscal Studies. He has degrees from the University of Cambridge and London.
