Jessica Lopez
TEACHER FELLOW
Jessica Lopez entered the education field after 10 years in the newspaper business. In addition to teaching high school students for nearly 18 years, Jessica has been a guest facilitator at the University of South Mississippi’s Teacher Leadership Institute, presented a number of professional development segments at both the state and regional levels, and continues to hold the position of Team Lead for the 9th and 10th grade English Language Arts teams at Gulfport High School. She currently teaches English I Honors but has taught courses as varied as Yearbook Publication, Theatre Arts, Public Speaking, and all high school levels of ELA. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending quiet time in her backyard hammock, long drives with her husband to the heart of Cajun Country (Southwest Louisiana), and evening walks by the lake with her two middle-aged dogs.
