Kiran Misra

REPORTING FELLOW

Kiran Misra is a freelance journalist reporting as the Pulitzer Center and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs’ inaugural Richard C. Longworth Media fellow and as a staff writer at South Side Weekly in Chicago. She primarily reports on the mechanisms behind systems of political power and the people who are most impacted by them, covering such issues as criminal justice, politics, and identity. She also serves as a Government Partnerships officer for the United Nations World Food Programme. Her reporting has been featured in outlets including The Guardian, The New Republic, Slate, SELF, Chicago Reader, Injustice Watch, Belt Magazine, and more. Kiran Misra was our University of Chicago Reporting Fellow in 2018.
