Monica Long

REPORTING FELLOW

Monica Long is a graduate student at the Clark Atlanta University working towards her Master of Arts in English. A native of Washington, D.C., she received her Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies with a minor in English from Temple University located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As an undergraduate student, she developed leadership and life skills with the American Red Cross Campus Consortium and People to People Student Leadership Organization. As a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Monica is committed to scholarship and community service.

As a woman of color, Monica has a passion for seeking social justice and equality for humankind, especially women. Monica plans to pursue her Doctor of Philosophy in African American Literature so she can teach diverse students. This will be Monica's first time reporting on a story abroad, and she is the first student fellow from Clark Atlanta University.
