Tracy Johnson

LESSON BUILDER USER, GUEST CONTRIBUTOR

Being a complicated and diverse person is something Tracy Johnson has learned to embrace. Tracy had the wonderful privilege of growing up on a family farm in North Carolina, purchased by his great-grandparents. He received his knowledge and skills from them as well as his parents in many areas including the following: gardening, working with livestock, hunting and fishing, processing for storage, preparation/cooking, working with and on machinery, and building. Tracy was also able to develop his interests in the fine arts and architecture.

Having studied drawing and painting in college, Tracy lives his life with the experiences of his childhood as his foundation. Through his experiences with artists like Jamal Ahmed and Kevin Cole, as well as designing, owning and operating a coffee/roast house and restaurant, rehabbing houses, and teaching, Tracy learns by doing. For him, it is that love of hands-on experiences that fuels his desire to communicate through the arts.
