A recent report from the Women's Refugee Commission (WRC) has documented deteriorating conditions for refugees in Greece. Calling the situation a "humanitarian and protection disaster," the WRC's investigators found evidence of dwindling health and sanitation, as well as threats of violence against women, girls and ethnic minorities living in the camps. Pulitzer Center grantee Jeanne Carstensen has been covering this situation in her project "Surviving Fortress Europe," and spoke with PRI's Jeb Sharp about the new report. This interview was first recorded for PRI's The World, but was rebroadcast on the August 14th, 2016 episode of BBC's Boston Calling. Click here to listen to the full episode.
