The government shutdown is now the longest of its kind in American history, and not only are federal employees beginning to miss paychecks, but ordinary citizens are also suffering from the lack of government services. Despite several stories surfacing about the hardships these individuals face, some right-wing media personalities are writing them off as “pure propaganda.” Pulitzer Center Executive Editor Indira Lakshmanan joined CNN’s Brian Stelter to discuss the impact of the shutdown and the media’s coverage of it.
