Camila DeChalus talked about her recent piece on what’s happening to asylum-seekers when they reach the U.S.-Mexico border.

Pulitzer Center grantee and CQ Roll Call immigration reporter Camila DeChalus joined Bill Scanlan on C-SPAN's Washington Journal to talk about her recent reporting on the southern border in the El Paso and McAllen regions. DeChalus discusses the daily challeges asylum-seekers are facing due to the "Remain in Mexico" policy as they struggle to make any progress in changing their immigration status. As more and more people seek asylum at the border, overcrowded court dockets, and scarce resources result in dire conditions for those hoping to get to the United States.
