Maiya Mahoney
REPORTING FELLOW
Intrigued by writing, travel, design, and photography, Maiya Mahoney enjoys ventures that spark her creativity. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, but currently living in St. Augustine, Florida, Mahoney is pursuing a degree in journalism and media production with minors in graphic design and international studies at Flagler College.
Mahoney is co-editor of Flagler’s online student newspaper, The Gargoyle, and works as a correspondent with local newspapers, such as Daytona Beach News-Journal and The St. Augustine Record. She also received an SPJ Mark of Excellence Award in 2021 for her online feature story reporting.
With a passion for storytelling, Mahoney hopes to shed light on the human experience and bring awareness to underreported happenings around the world.
