Bernice Beltran

Bernice Beltran is a documentary photographer and writer based in Manila. She began photographing as a hobby when she was studying at the University of the Philippines, where she obtained her degree in Visual Communication. Since she started her career in photography in 2019, she has explored how disasters like war and climate change affect marginalized communities.

In 2020, Beltran received grants from the National Geographic Society, Earth Journalism Network, Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, and Photojournalists’ Center of the Philippines Fellowship to build upon her previous work with a focus on the environment, Indigenous peoples, and women. Her work has appeared on ABS-CBN News Online and Light of the Catholics Asia News. She was also among the 24 photojournalists who were selected for the Women Photograph's Mentorship Program Class of 2021.
