She earned her master's degree in investigative journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, and previously worked as a local news freelancer and health care data analyst.
Her journalism work has won awards from the Arizona Press Club and the Society of Environmental Journalists.
