Kirsten Grieshaber

Kirsten Grieshaber earned a master's in American history and English from the University of Cologne in 1999, then a master's from the Columbia School of Journalism in 2001.

For the next four years, she crisscrossed the Atlantic many times, working as a freelancer for The New York Times, German daily Die Tageszeitung, and weekly Die Zeit both in Berlin and New York. In 2005, she started working as an editor on the North America desk of the Associated Press in New York.

In 2007, she was transferred to Berlin, where’s she’s been working as a Germany correspondent for AP ever since. She covers almost all topics in Germany that are of relevance for an international audience. She especially loves reporting and writing longer features about migration, religion, minorities, and culture.
