One of the goals that training centers like Liberty Cleaners seek is to remove the stigma related to the term “domestic workers.” Image by Elisa Agosto. United States, 2022.

The activism of women of Latin American origin who work in the cleaning industry in New York is empowering migrants to know their labor rights and acquire technological tools to obtain better working conditions.

An example of this movement are members of the Workers Justice Project, located in Brooklyn, where cleaning workers fight for dignity.

This project explores the sense of community and agency that these women are achieving in search of social justice.
