This project examines how large fishing companies in the North Atlantic are affecting local democracy and environmental politics, and how fishing rights are getting concentrated in fewer hands.

All around Europe, a few companies—often family-owned—have accumulated wealth in terms of fishing rights, enabling them to influence how we govern our oceans. These companies continue to grow their wealth, while stocks are diminishing and our oceans are in peril.
