A quarter-million people died in the Horn of Africa drought in 2010-12. Experts warn the current drought could be deadlier if the world neglects it to focus on Ukraine.

The Horn faces famine and an unprecedented fifth failed rainy season. Somalia is the hardest hit country. It usually sources 90% of its wheat from Ukraine and Russia. Now, with food running short, thousands of people in Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya are dying of starvation and illnesses they might normally survive.

The Associated Press explores the drought and a new wave of climate migrants ahead of the global climate meeting in Africa in November.
