Yuquis: The Strongest Fight

Country:

Authors:

The Yuqui Indigenous community is home to just 344 inhabitants. It's one of the most vulnerable communities in the Bolivian Amazon, and one that is feeling the impact of COVID-19. Since the community doesn't have access to electricity or potable water, much less robust healthcare, the virus poses an even greater threat.

The objective of this project is to give a voice to a community that seems at risk of disappearing, with a focus on denouncing, vindicating, and demonstrating strength in the face of COVID-19.

This is a collaborative project between La Barra Espaciadora, Agencia Tegantai (Ecuador), Neu Zürcher Zeitung (Switzerland), and Bistandaktuelt (Norway).
