Pulitzer Center Post-Grad Reporting Fellow Ankita Mukhopadhyay's documentary Far From Home will premiere at the 13th American Documentary and Animation Film Festival (AmDocs) in Palm Springs, California. The festival will be held on March 21-25, 2024.

Far From Home tells the story of Samira Faizi, who escaped to India from Afghanistan in the hope of a better life. But she grapples with the possibility of being stuck forever as slow asylum processes and the lack of a refugee law threaten her existence.

The film is part of Mukhopadhyay's Pulitzer Center-supported project Samira: An Afghan Refugee Story. It will screen at the Palm Springs Cultural Center on March 24 at 4:30pm PDT. Tickets are available here.
