Eric J. Zgodzinski

Eric J. Zgodzinski has been working in public health for over 28 years. His career started in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, as a sanitarian working for the Cuyahoga County Board of Health.

He obtained his master's in public health from the Northwest Consortium of Public Health in 2001, and in that same year Zgodzinski took an environmental health supervisor position at the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department (TLCHD).

He then went on to be a supervisor of the Western Lucas County Clinic for TLCHD, was the Northwest Ohio regional public health coordinator, and TLCHD director of environmental health. He was appointed health commissioner for TLCHD in June 2016. 

Zgodzinski obtained his doctor of public health degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in spring 2020. He also is a published author who has worked on three editions of Essentials of Public Health Management.
