Paul Woolverton

GRANTEE

Paul Woolverton has been a reporter with The Fayetteville Observer since 1993 and prior to that was a reporter and copy editor for The StarNews in Wilmington from 1990 to 1993. He has covered the legislature full-time and part-time for most of the past 20 years, and through his career, he also extensively covered local government, the court system, and agriculture.

Recently, Paul was part of a team that won open government awards for seeking the public release of sealed court documents from a lawsuit involving a wealthy businessman's alleged assault of three teen boys. The N.C. Court of Appeals set a legal precedent for open courts with this case.
