Forest covers are being destroyed every day, directly resulting into calamities like torrential rains, floods, landslides and so on. Such devastating deforestation remains one of the biggest contributors to climate change leading to dangerous consequences for all of humanity.

In Rwanda, Gishwati-Mukura Park was created in 1930 to protect an area of approximately 250,000 hectares. A natural reserve thriving with life, it was meant to preserve the biodiversity of the region. However, over the years the forest expanse has drastically reduced to a bizarre low of 600 hectares in 2002. In less than a century, the park lost 99% of the reserved area, and the phenomenon continues.
