Mayara Teixeira

Mayara Teixeira is a Brazilian journalist specializing in covering human rights stories. She worked at Rede Globo, the largest media company in Latin America, for seven years, covering stories worldwide. Her reporting on police violence in São Paulo earned her the prestigious Vladimir Herzog Award for Amnesty and Human Rights. She was awarded a full scholarship to pursue a specialization in documentary at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in New York, from which she will graduate in August 2023.
