Nancy Roberts

Nancy Roberts is a documentary director based in Hastings, United Kingdom. She has filmed and photographed in over 15 countries, has an master's degree in directing documentary from the NFTS, and has had her films screen at film festivals internationally and on Channel 4. 

Her last film, Japan’s Wartime Sex Slaves, a documentary for Channel 4's Unreported World, presented by Krishnan Guru-Murthy, follows the journey of 92-year-old Lee Yong-soo, one of the last survivors of wartime sexual slavery perpetrated by the Japanese military. She worked to take Japan to the International Court of Justice to receive an official apology. 

Prior to working as a filmmaker, Roberts worked for the United Nations in Japan. She speaks fluent Japanese and French.
