Selena Cecilio
REPORTING FELLOW
Selena Cecilio was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with pure Indigenous Purepecha roots and raised in the heart of North Carolina. She attended Asheboro High School and Cadet Officer Leadership School at Fort Bragg where she graduated with honors. Selena went on to study at UNCG and paused her studies to fight Leukemia. In 2021 she was reinstated at Forsyth Technical Community College to continue studies. Outside of campus, you can find her at a dog park with her two dogs and her husband, or volunteering for local campaigns. She enjoys reading history, political data, and studying local economic trends.
