Who Are the Messengers of Fear of the COVID Vaccine in Aymara and Quechua Communities in Peru?

Country:

Author:

During the pandemic, myths and lies related to COVID-19 vaccines emerged, and they continue to emerge, especially targeting Indigenous and vulnerable populations such as the Aymara and Quechua of Peru.

In this project, a team of researchers interviews doctors, nurses, and members of the communities to understand the "anti-vaccine" message. In a podcast, several experts check the most common lies about vaccination. Also, reports address a need to intensify the COVID-19 vaccination outreach campaign in the Aymara and Quechua languages.

However, does the Ministry of Health have the information it needs to answer the questions and concerns of the communities?
